The Spanish Network for Quantum Information and Quantum Technologies presents its new job market, which replaces the manually maintained list used until now. Its purpose is to gather in a single place the qualified job offers in quantum science and technologies in Spain, and to give them the circulation they currently lack: calls are published separately on each institution’s website, in different formats and on different calendars, so that candidates do not see the whole of the offer and institutions do not reach the whole of their potential audience.
Its scope is the Spanish quantum labour market as a whole, academic and industrial: training and research contracts at universities and public research centres, permanent and faculty positions, technical and engineering posts in laboratories developing quantum hardware, project and programme management profiles, and vacancies in companies in the sector.
The market rests on three instruments. A unified database, in which every offer is recorded with its institution, type of position, deadline and link to the original call, and which keeps closed calls as a historical record — 32 to date, 24 of them master’s and doctoral contracts. A classification by type of position, which allows the open positions of each profile to be consulted on their own. And the automatic circulation of every new offer to the Spanish quantum information and computation mailing list (qipc.spain@listas.csic.es), to the network’s Bluesky account (@qipcspain.bsky.social) and to its LinkedIn page, on the morning after publication.
Institutions from across the country take part: CSIC institutes, the Donostia International Physics Center, the Institute for Theoretical Physics UAM-CSIC, IFIMAC, the Institut de Ciències del Cosmos at the Universitat de Barcelona and the Catalonia Quantum Academy, among others. The vacancies of QuARC, CSIC’s quantum technologies centre, are incorporated automatically.
Instructions for candidates
The main page of the market lists every offer, open and closed; the buttons at the top filter by type of position and show only those still open. Each offer has its own page with the institution, the deadline, the description and the link to the official call.
Applications are always submitted to the institution that opened the position, by the procedure it states. The network circulates the offers; it takes no part in the selection processes and receives no CVs.
The deadline should be checked before preparing an application: an offer leaves the list of open positions on the day after its closing date, although its page is kept, so an old link may lead to a call that has already closed.
To receive the offers without consulting the website, it is enough to follow any of the three channels named above: the mailing list, Bluesky or LinkedIn.
Instructions for institutions offering a position
Offers are submitted through the job offer form, also reachable from the “New offer” button on the market. No user account or prior registration is required.
The title of the position, the institution, the application deadline — which may not be a date in the past — and an email address of the person submitting the offer are required. That address is not published and is used only to resolve questions about the content.
The optional fields should also be completed: the type of position, which determines the listings in which the offer appears; a description of up to 8,000 characters; a public contact address for candidates; the link to the official call, to which applicants will be directed; and the town. Two paragraphs of description are sufficient — the subject of the contract, the group or unit, the profile sought and the conditions — since the full detail appears in the call that is linked.
No offer is published automatically. Submissions wait for review and are read by somebody from the network before publication; if information is missing, the address provided is contacted. Once published, the offer joins the market and is circulated the following day through the three channels. Any later correction or withdrawal may be requested through the contact form.
